Name: Kenneth James Sinclaire
Age: 19
Species: Human - Animorph
Gender: Male
Controller?: No.
Appearance: Kenneth stands at average height, with dark brown hair but light brown eyes. Although he may appear as the more athetic type, with a pretty average to slightly muscular build, Ken himself rarely does sports. While normally dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, its not uncommon for him to wear either a hoodie (he prefer's light gray), a jacket (dark blue), or a lab coat if he is in campus. He carries a pair of reading glasses, but would prefer to not have to wear them. Lastly, his light skin is mostly clear of blemishes, and he tries to always have a comforting look on his face.
Personality: Before the truth of the world was revealed to him, Ken was a cheerful person in almost every respect. He wasn't exactly the comedian, or the class clown, but he always did his best to bring smiles. He was also a hopeless romantic, constantly hanging around the people he knew and hoping to find love through their contacts. However, since then, Ken has gotten quieter in recent days. The passion he had for his studies has waned, though he keeps up on it purely for the benefit of others. Ken seems to watch everyone and everything, acting like a camera scanning every location they are in. He is still a very curious individual, and constantly tries to press the boundaries to see what he can do and not do.
On the other side, Kenneth is very hesitant when it comes to actions, especially when it comes to fighting. Its something he would have to get over, but he is hardly one to get gung-ho in a fight. Likewise, when interacting with others, Ken can come off as quiet and shy, only really speaking when it seems important. As a hopeless romantic, he is quick to fall for and approach girls, but because of this, he can sometimes be easily led astray. He is a conflicted character, trying to see that line between good and evil, and what is right or wrong. He hates judging others, but recent events have made it necessary.
History: Ken was born to a loving family.. blah blah, yeah you've heard the same story over and over. Whats important was that he still has both of his parents living, but due to complications from his own birth, his mother couldn't have any more children, and therefore Ken was an only child. His childhood was mostly normal; his father is a police officer, while his mother works in a vet office. Ken found himself with a love of science and the unknown, and quickly immersed himself in science throughout school. When it came time to graduate high school, he was already ready for college, and had decided on biology, studying life in general, though he quickly began siding with the zoologists in his own studies.
On a more social level, Ken didn't have a close knight group of friends until last into middle school. He was able to hang out with any number of people from time to time, but no one was truely close. That is, until his last year of middle school, when the child entered puberty and his priorities changed. He quickly centered on Amarate, a fellow classmate and barely a friend. He took his time, slowly warming her up as they entered high school, before finally asking her out in freshman year. He was shot down. But Ken took it in stride, not ditching her for rejection and staying her friend. While initally he hoped to try his luck later, as they both grew, his friendship was valued more than a romantic relationship, and Ken looked to others.
By the time Ken graduated, he considered her to be one of his closest friends, and was willing to drop everything to help her. While he has since spread himself out more to others, like a magnet he finds himself drawn more to her, and will use her as a tether to meet new people. It is this want to meet others that got Ken into the Sharing, as a new member, and it was a cute girl that nearly got him to sign up as a full member. If it wasn't for that one fateful night, Ken would have gladly followed the Sharing and gone full member. Now that things have changed for the both of them, he is less inclined to meet others, more so because of the fact that he can't trust others, and how close he was to losing himself. Its hard, since he still dreams of a family. Maybe when this is all over...
RP Sample: It couldn't have been real. Even as he sat up in his bed, playing the events the previous night, having had time to mull over it all, he couldn't believe it. Not only had the question of life in the universe been finally answered, but it was just as they feared.. just as Hawkings predicted. An entire race was systematically invading Earth, one Controller at a time. And the race that had come to help? Wouldn't be here for a year or more. By that time, it was said, it would be too late. But how can one honestly believe all that.
Ken pulled himself out of bed, and headed to the restroom, staring at himself in the mirror. There was still marks from his narrow escape last night, which glared at him like demons laughing at his own follow. He washed his hands and his face, staring down at his palms after he had finished drying them.
The power to morph into any animal he touches. It was the dream of any vet, any zoologist, any animal lover. Ken wasn't exactly any of those, but he was still curious. Something happened to his hand and his arm. He could still picture the feeling. But was it really true?
His thoughts were interrupted by a scamper across his foot, and he looked down to see his roommate's cat, a small black and white cat, what many called a tuxedo cat. The animal was running around his legs, looking for food. He leaned down to scratch the cat's head, and walked to the kitchenette to fill the bowl for Sir Oswald, as his roommate named him. Ken leaned down, emptying the content of the cat food tin, and then stroked the feline as it ate.
Would it work? Could it work? What did he half to do? Ken ran his head down the cat's back, thinking about the cat, when Sir Oswald slowly stopped eating, and laid down. His eyes slowly closed, and Ken watched in amusement. This cat never interrupted its eating.. ever. He could feel the fur on his hand as he petting him, and then stopped. He was considering what it would be like to be the cat when his hand felt weird, and he turned it around to see fine black fur, and the hints of pads on his hand. He jumped up suddenly, running to bathroom and closed the door. There it is, in the bright light. Fur. On his hand.. growing out of his hand. Did he already gain the power to turn into Oswald? There was only one way to find out, and as Ken stared into his reflection, he pictured the cat, and watched as he began to shrink.
